Cl-HTTP's great flexibility and rich features is just what I want. If anyone is thinking the same thing, we can have a brainstorm to make things more clear, I think.

Not that new anymore, the latest version is 70.217 s378.

But you are in luck: CL-HTTP 70.217 s378 already runs under LispWorks 6, nicely taking advantage of SMP - thanks to Martin Simmons supporting the work with advice how to use the SMP features. At least on my machine (a Dual Core Mac) the performance of CL-HTTP on LispWorks has been improved quite a lot. In some places (the proxy for example) some more work might be needed.

Your version is quite old and there are definitely some useful improvements to CL-HTTP in the current development version. For chinese and japanese users, it might be interesting to try out the experimental support of UTF-8 in dynamic content - a contribution I have written for LispWorks and CL-HTTP.

If people are interested in financing some more work on CL-HTTP, let me know.

If you (or other CL-HTTP users) are willing to test the new version, send me a mail and I'll provide you with a pointer.
