You should check if gdk_window_begin_paint_region could let you do that
(but I am not sure about it).

Bindings for this and a some other window functions were missing, but I
have added it now. Note that both gdk:window-invalidate-region and 
gdk:window-begin-paint-region may be given a gdk:rectangle or a
vector as argument in instead of a gdk:region.
