Thank you, though it's not really about the "reward" but more about
understanding "why not": It's a bug that, by itself, causes no harm. It
could have lead to serious headaches when hunting a possible other bug in
the multiple value code, because one does not expect value1 to be treated
any different when it's not in a register. Thus, it could have happended
that I'd looked at the wrong code paths (the one without extra treatment).
Regarding the time: It's already spent, and it didn't cost much "extra"
because what I was actually doing when I found it was reading the code in
order to understand how all (or better: the core parts) of it works.

That's what I'll do for now, then. (The change is already applied in the
forked hg repo, though. I guess reverting it to later bring it back in might
