The old approach was based on two assumptions:
  * When a user encounters a crash, they will report it.
  * Bruno is always available to investigate a crash.

Both assumptions were wrong.

Yes, it is our task now to check whether the optimizations work. And the
Makefile.devel multibuild-* targets make this quite comfortable (assuming
you have the patience for waiting for ca. 20 builds to complete).
