Log Message:
Fixed problem with merging of logical pathnames yielding a versioned
pathname (with :newest).
Now the calls to MERGE-PATHNAMES have the optional `version' argument
set to NIL whenever a logical pathname is involved.
This fix should open make hierarchical composition much easier.
