Excellent.  A reusable implementation of this would be a big timesaver.

It would really prove the pudding if one day the CL community could one 
day be completely be self-hosting.  Mailing list managers, web servers, 
news servers etc. in CL.

I'll have a look.  I was sorry to hear that Sawfish was going away just
because Lisp seems like the perfect language for scripting a WM.
