I guess I was not clear.  Let me elaborate.  The idea is to get
students to do most of the work.  However, one cannot give students
(at least not mine) too vague instructions.  If one does, they will
produce garbage.  Therefore, I will have to write some fairly detailed
specifications, which need to be written anyway and which the students
would be incapable of writing themselves.  Writing such specifications
for a new project is relatively easy, since it is all in my head.
Trying to guess a specification from existing code is much harder.

Does this make more sense?
