Introductory post, CL projects, and more!

Hi all,

It took me a while to getting around to writing this introductory post 
because I've been having fun reading what other people are up to, and I'm 
busy enough with the day to day grind (day job, etc.) to have made such 
little progress compared to the sterling crew of hackers here.

I'm happy to see John Morrison, who I know from the E3 project, and happy 
to see that MaK has at least one CL project kicking around! =]

Also happy to see Luke Gorrie, who I know by proxy from friends in common 
and language research sites like Lambda the Ultimate. Slitch is excellent, 
and I hope we can further convert Luke's excellent Erlang hackery skills 
and techniques to CL.

As for myself, I have an outdated projects page at 
<http://www.pobox.com/~dnm/projects.html> which has some vague comments 
about a few CL projects. Out of the ones listed there, CLAS is the one that 
should get out the door first, if I ever get around to updating it, 
thorough testing, and documenting. It's been in torpor much too long.

I'm really enthusiastic about the movement around better XML tools in CL. 
I've thought for a while that CL was possibly the best language for really 
innovating XML manipulation and processing, and I'm glad people smarter 
than me have been playing with the idea and releasing some cool code. I 
have a lot of poorly defined interests in the synthesis of XML, RDF, CL, 
and a lot of the technology now being labeled under "The Semantic Web" and 
social software.
