Actually, I take it back.  Has anyone mentioned that you can connect
and disconnect multiple times with Slime?  I believe you can configure
the Lisp-side Swank process to run in a separate thread, but even if
it can't or you can't for some reason, you could probably replicate
the attach/detach tty functionality, and have all of Slime, too.  Just
a thought; I'm not really that familiar with Slime, much less doing
this sort of thing with it.  Check with the Slime folks.
