Don't have to do this first.  (require :hemlock) will automatically
load :clx if needed.

What kind of OS are you running this on?

On osx, I get a different kind of error. (It looks like something
deleted the initial '/' from the unix socket for the server.  Need to
look into that....

This works fine running on my Fedora 24 system.
