I just upgraded Corman version to 2.5.
I went in to init-ccl and commenteed out three lines

(defdialect cormanlisp "CormanLisp" common-lisp
;  (ilisp-load-init 'ilisp-package-kludge ilisp-cl-ilisp-package-file)
;  (ilisp-load-init 'common-lisp ilisp-cl-ilisp-init-file)
;  (ilisp-load-init 'cormanlisp ilisp-cormanlisp-init-file)

as suggested.
Then I went into ilisp-cq.el and commended out the emacs-load init code

This prevents the startup code from being run.
Not needed as it is part of the image.
This might prevent it from crashing.
