I am working on improving the release process regarding regression tests. In 2.5 I got the GCL tests (which have 11,000 tests) to load and run, which was a good step, but it generated a very large number of failures. Many of the failures can be traced back to some basic things, such as signalling a generic error exception as opposed to a program-exception, or things like that. I didn't have time prior to the release to go over these in detail (and I had a legal obligation to meet the release date), and it's possible (likely) that one or more of the tests would have pointed this out. In future releases I expect to take much more advantage of this amazingly complete test suite.

That said, if somebody still wants to contribute some regression tests I will be happy to add them to the release cycle. This is obviously an important area to address.
