Which version of Windows is this on? And which IDE version are you

The latest IDE is stable for me under windows 2000,
but crashes repeatedly under Windows95 regardless from what I am
doing. However the 1.5 IDE runs fine.

You could try the 1.5 IDE with your application (one of the great 
things about COM, you can use the 1.5 IDE with Cormanlisp 2.01
no problems at all).

Then you would now whether it is an IDE problem, or a problem
with the Lisp engine/your code.
