Another round of small fixes.  With these I'm able to really get my
keywise hack going!  Please pull from urls below.

I finally found how to detect which menu-item to bind the 
shortcut to: it's the one that has state 'prelight.  
Implement gtk-widget-get-state, makes reading of widget state
possible.
