*sigh*.  I wish I could really make M-. as functional as the Zmacs
implementation.  It had lots of cleverness buried into it, such as
giving priority to definitions found in the current buffer, followed by
definitions in other buffers, followed by definitions in files not yet
read in.  I am trying to design the new Lisp<->ilisp protocol to allow
for cool hacks like this, but I don't expect to have time to do more
than a few of them myself.  It would take a lot more unemployment than I
can afford . . .

   Also, I know there's more cool stuff in Zmacs than I ever had time to
learn, even with world class "code surfing" tools.  A lot of clever
people contributed (many with higher standards than mine, I'm sure);
folks who hack in C and Perl will never know what they're missing.

   I would appreciate it if some ILISP maintainers could take care of the
   recent patches and fixes contributed by users. I am currently busy because
   I took my father to the hospital twice within the past dozen days (nothing
   to worry to much about, but it does take time).

Would you rather add me to the maintainers list?  I'd be happy to commit
my own patches -- though I think I would still want to post most of them
for comment first.  I don't think I have a good enough sense of project
goals to know what's desirable.
