I have used them a bit and would happily look at trying to set up a 
branch on a test installation I have at home and then try to apply 
this to the sourceforge installation. Give us a couple of days and 
I'll see what I can do.

IIRC the problems with branching under sourceforge was to do with 
using the gui to set tags. But there is a reasonable chance that I'm 
wrong...
