As noted in http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=260095 "... completer.el ... unconditionally alters minibuffer-local-completion-map and minibuffer-local-must-match-map. This behavior violates an Emacs Lisp Coding Convention: "Design the package so that simply loading it has no visible effect--that should not enable the feature."
