I don't have access to LW but I cannot reproduce the problem with
CMUCL, which suggests that either there is something wrong with LW
or with the LW dialect definition.  Since I didn't notice (which
does not mean there isn't) anything in the LW dialect definition
that would override something that should affect this, well, either
a) this has been (perhasp accidentally) fixed in the later ILISP
versions (I use the current CVS HEAD), b) this is a problem with LW
or c) something fishy is going on.

In the LW _IDE_?  That information is useless since ILISP does not
talk to the LW IDE.  You should (according to what little I know
about running LW under ILISP) dump a core that starts a tty
listener and try it there.

You could also try upgrading ILISP to the CVS HEAD revision.
