Interesting calculation… are you suspecting that my SRS FS740 GPS-OCXO is using a 32-bit counter at 1 MHz to derive its drift corrections? 

Maybe… I know that they used Z80 technology in my standalone SRS PRS-10 Rb Reference Oscillator.

I was impressed at how much they could get out of ancient technology. Maybe they did the same with the FS-740? I have their older model FS-740, not the most recent, which can also work with GLONASS and GPS, and several others. So mine might just have a Z80 inside.

I would think that the update rate really depends on the drift rate of the OCXO. And that has to vary with age.
