Consolas has been my font for code editors in general for years now too ... will check out IBM Plex Mono.

As you noted, Rainer, Apple recommends their SF Mono and SF Pro for MacOS work ... but I have not tried it yet in place of Consolas.

I used Consolas and Lucida for many years.  And Courier New.

But I tried IBM Plex Mono and on LW I really like it.  Somehow Emacs is less so.
