I spend one day investigating a port of Lush on MacOS X. I found the version of binutils implemented by Apple but it took me the full day to realize that it does not implement relocations. It only implements the symbol lookups for the sake of gdb. But even this has at least one bug. I think that completing bfd to support mach-o-ppc well enough for lush would take one or two weeks. Besides MacOS we have problems with the Alpha and possibly the Itanium. Both need a fix similar to the mipself_xxx code in dldbfd.c. On the other hand x86-64 should just work. - L. ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Etnus, makers of TotalView, The debugger for complex code.
