Hi, In addition to having UTF-8 in Lush running via a console it is needed in OGRE. UTF-8 works in a particular console because the application itself takes care of calling the rendering functions to map the values into their bitmaps. Does OGRE have the requisite facilities in place to do this? it does not seem to do it on my system. I looked into this, and as far as X Window system, KDE, Enlightenment, etc. are concerned they use the freetype libraries to perform the rendering (e.g. KDE Konsole running Lush). Offhand I am not sure if it will be necessary to add in access to the libraries separately or whether they can be accessed already, given that OGRE directly accesses X facilities to create windows.
