I feel the same.

I was thinking of writing an alternative lush-to-C compiler at some
indefinite point in the future. Writing a compiler that creates DXs
instead of DHs, that is. One might reuse some parts of the current
compiler.
One step towards making that compiler project easier is bringing
Lush's Lisp API and C API in line. By this I mean that
1. For every DX and every DY function there should be a counterpart
in the C API (with an obvious name)
2. The C API functions should take the same kind of objects in the
same order and number
If we are careful in designing the C API then we might be able to
extend the DX creating machinery so that the DX objects carry type
information for the future compiler. Ideally, this type information
can be read off the C function declarations in include/header.h .
It's pretty vague, I know. But I would try something along those
lines.
