(DOT REAL-MAT COMPLEX-MAT) causes segment violation

I noticed today that (DOT X Y) causes a segment violation whenever one
of X or Y is complex and the other is real.  

I looked at DOT.LISP and noted that it hasn't changed in 2 years...I
can't believe its been broke that long.  I've done no further
research.

Is the problem obvious to someone else?
