This is a bit impractical when a directory listing is hundreds deep 
(you get a screen full of Get Info dialogs), and I can't find a way 
to do this for a directory tree of lisp files.

One used to be able to use apps like FileType 
(http://www.frederikseiffert.de/filetype/) but that doesn't help with 
this issue.

If the application associated with a file is not in creator or type 
codes, or file suffix, where is it stored?
