powerbook driving cinema

Thanks for the post. It' great to see your setup.

I have an old Symbolics keyboard in the closet that I hope to
someday hook up to my OS X Mac.

Right now for lisp I'm using CMUCL, which is OK but not great.

And I also am using a powerbook to drive a cinema display (mine only
23 inch).

I notice that your powerbook is closed in the picture.

After everything is up and running, with the Cinema as the main/only
display, I then open the lid on my laptop for cooling. The screen
stays black, and the heat dissipates better -- I find that driving
the Cinema, even the 23 inch, generates a lot of heat from the video
card. And then I even put the laptop on one of those "coolers" (just
a plastic shelf with fans), believing that heat is the enemy of
longevity.

Just a thought.
