Regarding the last point, I'm not sure to understand the problem
you are mentioning:

The argument BgL_arg1602z00_175 is actually (char *)0L so it is the
expected sentinel. Is that correct?

I have had bad experiences with gstreamer (those interested might read the
following http://www-sop.inria.fr/members/Manuel.Serrano/publi/serrano-wadlerfest16.pdf) and I have mostly lost my interest with this library.
