I think the FSF's stance on importing GPL software in an interpreted 
context is that it still constitutes derived work: you're still ending 
up with the GPL code and the other code sharing the same address space, 
which would be equivalent to linking. The FSF tends to put the focus on 
the means of communication, i.e., one process having GPL and something 
else in the same address space vs. two processes talking via IPC:
