Hello Andy, Thanks for the info about the C-4 egg, I had no idea there had been one connected to leptonica, very interesting! Documentation for the old egg shows considerable overlap between old and new eggs. Differences may be attributable to changes in leptonica itself and the set of functions selected for Scheme bindings. (leptonica has several hundred "high-level" functions and many more "low-level" functions to choose from.) I'll have to download the egg to get the specifics. There appears to be substantial (but not complete) compatibility with the new egg. Depending on exactly what features your old script uses, modifying it to use the new egg should be possible. If not, I expect at some point needing to expand leptonic. Adding new capabilities is pretty straightforward, so if necessary that can be done. In any case, if help is needed porting your script I'm glad to give it a go.
