That's not the problem.  The problem is annoying users with those
JavaScript-based challenges.

Can you elaborate on what you consider a downgrade of quality?  To me
that would be requiring users to have JavaScript enabled on their
browsers and being tracked by foreign companies to be able to access our
resources.

The biggest problem is protecting our services from crawlers which
exhaust resources of the server when they hit it.

We don't want to depend on Cloudfare to be able to provide our services.

We are not closing our eyes.  We are just providing what we can in the
current scenario.
