A a question about the object locking implementation: What exactly is an "object" in the context of locking? I'm not sure whether one can obtain locks for immediate values. For non-immediates, one can simply take the scmx_pointer_value() of the object and look that up in a hash table. If immediates can be locked, too, this will complicate things, so I better ask befor I start producing superfluous code.
