Afaik, Twiki uses RCS to achieve its version control.  I don't know anything
about clients for pure RCS.  It might be possible to use CVS to access the
same files.  I'll look into it.

The need for an account to edit is part of a default setup.  It can probably
be eliminated if that's desirable.

However, a big benefit of having edits being associated with accounts is
that you have some accountability, just from the point of view that if you
have questions about a change, you know who made it - not just by whether or
not they happened to sign the change (which isn't always practical), but by
looking at the revision control history.

Like other wikis, it still relies on honesty, in its current form:
registration doesn't actually provide security, since anyone can create an
account with no verification.  That can be changed, but we might not want
to.

The account creation process could easily be simplified down to an HTML form
that asks for nothing but name, password, and email, rather than the current
larger form, just to make it seem simpler to register.

I think so.  I'm not sure what the exact consequences of not having your
name auto-linked would be, but it could have implications for searching and
indexing.

Another way to get around this limitation is to use all caps, e.g. MJR or
MJRAY.  That'll be auto-linked.

I've added "color:black;" to the stylesheet for the body and td elements.
Most of the others were already black.  Let me know if that doesn't work.

BTW, it's possible to have per-user skins, which we can get into later if
we're keeping this setup.  For now, you can see the capability in action by
tacking "?skin=plain" or "?skin=." onto the end of a topic's URL (the latter
gives the default twiki skin).
