Re: Hosting of the cookbook

Hi all,

Allow we to had my 2c to this debate. [I havbe a new
ergo keyboard that I'm juyst getting used to so please
excuse a few typos]

Now I disagree with 1.  I believe a published book
would be nice, but a working online resource is better
than a book if there is tradeoff.  (If a book is the
goal we should just go straight for a contract.)  So
at the minimum the system should facilitate an online
resource as best as possible and IF we get lucky and
end up with enough material to publish, not get in the
way of the process of publishing.

Ok, so onton the path there.  Here I see:
1.  We have posited a path (use a wiki)
2.  By writing recipes in that wiki we're getting a
feel for how it works.  The result is that we;ve
changd process a few times and are still getting to
something that gives the desired result and is easy to
use.
3.  We;ve taken recommendations from various sources
to change features in the wiki.  This includes access
control and we;re discussing annotation methods.

3. is being discussed on the wiki, under the admin
laundry list.

4. I can't comment on.

Now I;d love to write more but I'm doing about 10wpm
and I have a bus toc catch ;)  I'll finish with a
reminder to heed the lesson from worse is better.  A
working, flawed but fixable system is better than a
perfevct but never implemented system.
