If the main goal of the Cookbook wiki is to promote the use of Scheme,
then I currently suspect that a viral open license reserving no special
print rights is the best fit.

Some arguments against that:

1. The wiki currently relies on major special investments by people like
Anton, so wiki contributors might not object to granting special
rights to those people. And investment has already been made.

(Counter: But maybe this has a significant adverse effect on
contributions. Or maybe it is still possible to spread the required
investment out among a larger number of volunteers.)

2. Without restrictions on print publication, some high-impact publisher
who would otherwise be willing to produce a Cookbook adaptation that
would promote Scheme, will decline to.

(Counter: But maybe the high-impact publisher satisfied if the
license were merely less viral to whatever editing for print is done.
Or maybe a high-impact publisher would only decline if a set of other
publishers was distributing a Cookbook adaptation widely -- in which
case the high-impact publisher is not needed so much.)

3. Without restrictions on print publication, someone might produce a
poor-quality Cookbook adaptation that discourages use of Scheme --
either by giving a bad impression on the bookstore shelf and in
reviews, or by frustrating individual purchasers of the book when
they attempts to read and use it.

(Counter: But many popular languages have poor-quality books
   published on them...)

4. Restrictions on print publication might actually encourage
contributions -- such as if contributors perceive the restrictions as
protecting their volunteer from exploitation by random profiteers, or
if they perceive restrictions as increasing the likelihood that
they'll see their name in a high-quality book.

(Counter: Or maybe this is not a significant effect.)

By the way, could someone summarize the current rationale for LGPL over
GFDL?
