I second all of that.  I also think that if the rationale is laid out
clearly, it should satisfy most people, except those who will not accept
anything short of 100% free-as-in-GNU.

The Drupal software which runs lambda-the-ultimate.org (on the same server)
has a voting module.  I could easily set up a page using that.

Tangentially, I've been toying with the idea of using Drupal's comment
module, which supports threaded discussion, as a way to support threaded
discussion related to Cookbook topics.

BTW, another point for the FAQ will be "how come the site doesn't run 100%
Scheme"?  I'd like to have a good answer to that written up so that I don't
have to feel guilty every time I suggest something that isn't Scheme.  ;)
