Having all recipes listed on the front page is probably a bad idea, but 
perhaps
having boxed titled "10 featured recipes" and "10 most viewed recipes" 
were an idea?

And putting "TOC with recipes" on a more prominent place.

That would be more logical, on the other hand this shows more clearly 
what other recipes there are.
