That's interesting! I especially liked your idea of parameterizing your
program with the SXPath implementation you want to test.

For testing SXPath, we currently use Kirill Lisovsky's XTester:

We have a slightly different set of tests for each SXPath implementation,
because XTester stops when it encounters an unexpected result. In your
approach, it is possible to obtain the statistics of passed/failed tests for
a particular SXPath implementation. Additionally, it may be convenient to
gather all the test statistics in the form of S-expressions (SXML?).

I uploaded the SXPath tests we are currently using. You can download them

BTW, a kind of SXML diff can be useful for comparing between the expected
and the obtained results.
