The latter goes without saying. Absolutely there will be a migration
period -- once there is a general agreement that the migration is
worthwhile, that is. Potentially, it might be: the new format seems to
offer a degree a conceptual unification and might make SXPath
simpler. I can only say at this point that the proposal doesn't seem
to irreparably break anything. Do you think the proposal has merits
that offset the cost of changing the applications that do break?
