That's good, but I think Quicklisp availability has some advantages,
too. Quicklisp supports going back to previous versions, for example;
you can say "Give me the library state-of-the-world from June, 2013" and
match it up to a project's API requirements.

I'm not that familiar with the Emacs package system, so maybe it
provides something like that, too.
