Re: Status?

I am currently not actively working on xlispstat; I would like to get
back to it at some point, but have not been able to find the time.
There are still a number of things that are easier to do in lisp than
in R, and for those it would be nice to have an updated version.

One of the things I have been doing in the R project is bring in some
of the features that have been available in xlispstat, so maybe the
need for a revision will be less.  Adding programmable dynamic
graphics support to R by porting over the xlispstat design is one
thing I may look at; changes in the event handling structure in R 1.6
may make that possible in a package.  It would most likely have to
exist independently of the standard R graphics system, but that should
be fine as static and dynamic graphs are really quite different
animals.

On a personal note, I am in the process of moving to the University of
Iowa.  The xlispstat home repository and this mailing list will remain
at Minnesota for now but should move within a couple of months.  I
will be in transit for the next week or to; since this list is
moderated it measn messages to this list will be queued up until then.
