The fourth open beta version, beta 27 (Built 2.0.4.1) of "40tude Dialog" is
now (finally) available for download from:

http://www.40tude.com/dialog/

The list of fixes, changes and addition is attached below, but you can also

If you have the previous version of 40tude Dialog installed, you can simply
install this version over it and Dialog will keep your settings and data
(apart from the issues listed below).

However, if you had database errors with your current version I encourage to
start with a fresh installation.

Compatibility issues when updating and in general:

-The intro lines (attribution lines) moved from the General settings to the
Identity settings. When updating you will loose your old attribution lines.

-The "!setcolor(forgroundcolor;backgroundcolor)" scoring command has been
updated. A parameter of 0 (zero) now means black (=color value 0).
Previously, zero indicated the default color. A new identifier "default" is
now used for this. You might want to update your expression like
"!setcolor(teal;0)...." to "!setcolor(teal;default)....".

-For users who donated, I had to change the algorithm for the hash needed
for the golden star, so the new version might fail to show stars for
messages posted with the new version.

Changes:
-'Paste as quote' and 'reformat paragraph' now work correctly with Unicode characters
-URLs can no be up to 400 characters long
-The golden star sometimes didn't show up
-Internal formatting characters codes are now filtered for outgoing postings/articles
-Searching in the currently shown body even searched in articles beyond
-Searching in raw bodies didn't work
-When "Raw view" is active, search operations now apply to the raw bodies only
-Added support for non-numerical time zone identifiers, like PST, EST, MEZ, etc.
-Fixed sending of attached files in use by another program (e.g. MS Word *.doc files)
-Fixed the mouse gestures that were switched off every time Dialog was started
-Fixed the spell checker regarding single quotes like in "don't", "l'enfant", etc.
-The header list now correctly refreshes when using "Up to prev. message" and "Down to next message"
-When clicking on URLs, MsgIDs, emails, etc. Dialog sometimes highlighted text. Fixed.
-Articles with raw 8-bit subjects are now excluded from the "Start new new thread when subject changes" option
-Fixed error when loading score file larger than 64 KB
-Fixed a lockup that happened with some malformed email addresses
-Subject header was changed on fup's with some raw 8 bit characters (e.g. #128)
-Fixed qp-encoding of equality signs in outgoing emails
-Fixed: Deleting a Newsserver deleted Inbox of Identity with same descriptive name
-Keyboard shortcuts are now deactivated when typing in the spell check dialog
-Fixed: When 'Followup-To: poster' header was present 'From' address was used by Dialog instead of 'Reply-To' (same for "Mail-Copies-To: poster") 
-Added support for local inline images in HTML messages
-Bodies are now removed from db when the attachment(s) were saved to disk automatically. The body pane will show where the file(s) were saved and as long as they are available at this position they are still viewable in the body pane.
-Fixed: Simply selecting a group in the group list left a *.ini file in the data directory.
-Fixed: Sometimes a few characters were cut from the subject when creating a f'up
-Fixed: Terminating Dialog while it was still starting up introduced problems with the db
-Fixed: Spell check dialog failed to select complete words with extended characters
-Fixed: When answering "No" to "Do you want to ignore these warnings?" when spooling a message, the message was spooled anyway
-Fixed character display for articles with "format=flowed" in the "Content-Type" header
-Fixed: Dialog is now correctly sending out a "QUIT" to the server after posting a message
-Changed: If there is no plain text version of a posting, the html version is now shown in preference over the raw version
-Changed: New scoring rules now get inserted at the top (when using "Add plonk rule", "Adjust score for poster...", etc.)
-Added: Mime types<->File extension can now be edited (mimetype.txt file in data directory)
-Added: Menu item "Special>Locate original post" to quickly find the original message from a f'up
-Added option: A message is no longer marked read immediately upon selection, but when the next message gets selected.
-The currently active article is now kept in view when a worker thread reindexes the active group
-Fixed: Importing mbox files sometimes stopped before it imported all messages
-Made importing mbox files faster
-Added option for direct delivery of email (using SMTP server from MX record lookup of recipients domain)
-Fixed error "Could not write the entire buffer to the underlying stream" produced by a log file function
-Worked on the GUI responsiveness again
-You can now display all headers for messages in the "Sent" folder
-Added acronyms feature
-Fixed: No longer adds carriage return after random signatures
-Introduced a simply intermediate backup scheme while sending messages. Dialog now will restore the draft(s) upon next start if the sending was interrupted for some reason (Window crashing, etc.) 
-Fixed AV's with OnArticleListPaint, OnNGListPaint and message scripts
-HELO string used when connecting to SMTP servers is now customizable with a fallback to the local computer name
-Added interception logging when loglevel is "All debug messages"
-Removed the 40 character limit for POP3 Username and Password
-Made the "Mouse wheel scrolls window under cursor" option working in the composition window 
-Fixed a bug that made SMTP connections fail if there was an OnBeforeSendingMessage script active
-"Reformat paragraph" now works with all custom quote characters
-Fixed caret position when deleting lines in the composition window
-Fixed wrap position in composition window
-Trailing spaces in (automatically) wrapped lines are now deleted upon sending
-References header now has priority over In-Reply-To header in incoming emails for threading
-Added a warning when the same group is entered twice in the Newsgroups field in the composition window
-Fixed: Changing identity in composition window did not change signature
-Fixed: "Mark messages without bodies read" in group options marked messages _with_ bodies read
-Reworked file flushing which should give better results when Windows crashes while Dialog is active
-Fixed: "Skip to next unread message" etc. put the first message in a group into the history
-Fixed: Outgoing emails sometimes disappeared with certain setup
-Fixed: "Auto mark read after X seconds" sometimes marked the wrong (freshly selected) message read
-Changed: If the body download in a group that has the "retrieve all bodies" option set, fails for one reason or another Dialog will now mark the message for retrieval, so you only have to click on "Get marked message bodies" once to get all missing
-Changed: Made "mark all groups read" faster when the "All" tab is selected
-Added smooth scrolling in the body pane
-Added single-key-read scrolling when a HTML message is visible
-Reworked some internal data structures; startup faster and less memory needed
-Fixed: Multiple addresses in To: headers (and other) sometimes displayed incorrectly when "Show all headers" was active

-Changed the !setcolor behavior. !setcolor(teal;0) will result in a black (color value 0) background now; Use !setcolor(teal;default) instead
-Added support for Archive, Keywords, Summary, Expires and Approved headers in the composition window
-Reworked the "Skip to next new ..." functions a bit
-You can now specify default values for cc, bcc, archive, keywords, summary, expires and approved header fields in the identity settings
-Fixed a reg. expr. access violation
-You can now *add* newsgroups and email address to the respective input fields in the composition window by holding down Ctrl
-Moved the attribution line settings from the General to the Identity settings
-Dialog now allows cc/bcc fields to be set without the Email to field set
-The "new count" indicators in the group list now shows the number of new messages total, not depending on the active view
-X-Headers with no default content now show up in the composition window, so they can be set on a per-post base
-When a server returns "No such group" without the name of the group, Dialog now adds the name of the group to the error message
