Thanks for the reply, but it looks like I need some further advice.

Found the thread at:
http://groups.google.com.au/groups?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&threadm=1kl6t78iexk8.
18aietz27qbn.dlg%4040tude.net&rnum=2&prev=/groups%3Fq%3Dnews.software.reade
rs%2Bdialog%2B%2522play%2Bsound%2522%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26ie%3DUTF-8%26selm%
3D1kl6t78iexk8.18aietz27qbn.dlg%254040tude.net%26rnum%3D2
but I could not get sound to play.
I used these two scripts (at separate times) and they each compiled ok.
My PC plays sounds atm, so volume level is ok.
Nothing else was playing when the emails arrived.
I restarted Dialog with no change.
program OnXover;
procedure OnXover(Var XoverData:TXoverData);
begin
if pos('@aardvark.net.au',xoverdata.references)>0 then beep;
end;
begin
end.
//program OnXover;
//function PlaySound( Filename: PChar; Options: LongWord ): Boolean;
// external '[email protected] stdcall';
//procedure OnXover(Var XoverData:TXoverData);
//begin
//if pos('@aardvark.net.au',xoverdata.references)>0 then
// PlaySound( 'c:\Progra~1\Internet\40TUDE\mail.wav', 1 );
//end;
//begin
//end.
I was not sure about the msgid reference but here is the header from my
test email which shows my domain under Message-ID
