Changing an existing mailing list

Greetings, I am one of the developers on the Apache MyFaces project. We've just been promoted to top level status and we're going to be changing our mailing list addresses soon. We are hoping to keep the archives intact. Will this be possible? I can email this list once the change goes through but I wanted to know what was required of us if anything to do this.
