Yikes, that shouldn't be happening at all for anything other than well-known spambot user agents.

I'll look into the stats on how often this is coming up.  I may follow up with you for some quick debugging help.

I frequently see the following when viewing (IE6 SP2) mailing list archives.
It's very annoying!

connecting to the site.
