Gmail says your user name and password don’t match, and I don’t see a user name in the blat command line.

Your stunnel.conf is similar to mine, I use smtp.gmail.com:465, and it works with Win7-64

Subject: [blat] The SMTP server did not accept Auth PLAIN value.

Hi All,

New to blat. Getting "The SMTP server did not accept Auth PLAIN value". User/PW (all lower case) are correct.

Using Win7 64, blat 3.23, stunnel 5.09, gmail

Checked prev posts on this topic and must be thick - can't seem to apply recommendations to my problem.

Is there a special build for Win7 64?

stunnel:

# SERVICE-LEVEL OPTIONS

[SMTP Gmail]
accept = 127.0.0.1:25
;accept = 25
connect = smtp.googlemail.com:465

[POP3 Gmail]
;accept = 127.0.0.1:1109
accept = 143
connect = pop.googlemail.com:995

blat - -to [email protected] -debug -pw xxxxxxxxx -subject Note -body TESTER -server 127.0.0.1:25

If I run:

c:\windows\blat\blat323\full\blat -install smtp.googlemail.com [email protected] -u LouLu -pw xxxxxxxx  - - gmailsmtp

blat puts registry entries with what seem like encrypted p/w. If I alter them back to "xxxxxxxx" makes no difference (I think, because I really don't need the install, since I call out in blat command line).

Thanks,

Lou Dudka
