This has me curious.  What other solution did you find?

For your last message, I took your text and saved it to a text file in UTF-8 format (Notepad can do this).  I then changed the vertical bars (‘|’) to carriage returns and saved the edits.  I then used blat to send this text file and everything worked.

I think there is a misunderstanding about when to use vertical bars.  This is intended to be used from the command line where pressing the Enter key would normally cause problems with getting data input.  The vertical bars are not intended to be used in a text file to replace carriage returns / line feeds.  Text files can have all the carriage returns / line feeds you desire.

My command line was this:  D:\bin\blat.exe body.txt -t myself -p smtp4dev -s "Check the message body"

The message received was this:
