BLAT will frequently NOT have access to the IMAP server!
MY ISP has very restrictive policies on relaying and remote access when not at an ISP IP address. So my phone cannot access my IMAP server to SEND domain address replies, even though it can receive my domain emails. The solution to that is that the phone automatically sends a cc of any replies to my IMAP server account.
I use gmail to send rather than the domain email server when off site. Too much bother to swap outgoing settings every time I use wifi.
BLAT sends emails for a variety of accounts but always logs in using stored defaults. I don’t think the domain server bothers to parse outgoing mail to put copies in sent mail for each sender as defined in BLAT command line, it may save a copy for the login user account used to send the mail, can anyone clarify that?

I'm not shure if this was addressed already
A folder like "SENT mail" is for a POP3 mailbox ALWAYS a local folder of an email application and not part of any folder structure from a mail server
If the mailbox is available as IMAP mailbox, there will be a "sent mail" folder on the servers mailbox. But depending on the mailserver software, the server software stores sent mails in any folder. This is not part of SMTP protocol or software
