Two of your emails came through with attachments, two did not. If you want to have images within the message, the only way I know is to use HTML for your message, with a line like this in your HTML:

    <img src="cid:man1minrsam.jpg">

The cid: tag tells the HTML viewer that the image should be part of the email using the name that follows. When using cid: tags, do not include path names, use _only_ the filename.

If you do use the above cid: syntax, you can them specify –embed on the Blat command line, which may or may not include a full path to the image file you want embedded into the HTML email. The name used with cid: must be the filename of your image file because Blat will use that filename in the message content it builds.

Here is a line from a sample html that I use for testing Blat:

    <p><img src="cid:embeddedImage1.jpg">&nbsp;Test for embedded image</p>

Hi Chip,

Thank you very much. It did work. The attachment was sent and I was able to open it. Wonderful!!

I also learnt from the documentation that the image can become part of the email message. Could you provide an example for this.

I have run an example of what I am doing and included you as a recipient for your information.

Thank you

Ima.

Hi,

Thank you for the welcome.

I am a new user of BLAT (v3.2.10, 32 bit) having used it for the past week
only. I learnt about BLAT from some professional friends.

I have been using it to send test text alert messages and so far it has
worked fine. The next phase of the exercise is to send jpg file(s) of
plotted data images to accompany the text messages but I have not had any
success so far. I have used the following command line and it has executed
with no error messages:

blat ula1minrsam.jpg -s "ULA RSAM ALERT" -to [email protected] -cc
[email protected]

The jpg file has been sent as an attachment but the attached file seems to
be empty because it cannot load and picture.

Today I learnt by reading BLAT doc that -embed can be used to send jpg
files. Would it be possible provide an example of a command syntax for
this purpose.

Thank you.

Ima,

Here is an example:

blat someTextFile.txt -attach ula1minrsam.jpg -s "ULA RSAM ALERT" -to
[email protected] -cc [email protected]

The -attach option is what you need for the image file. The
someTextFile.txt could be any text file that has something meaningful about
why the email is being sent.
