Thank you Chip. That is what I suspected and your suggestion to convert the txt file to html also crossed my mind but I thought it is too much effort to do it so will leave it as was done. Text as email and graph image as attachment.
Thanks a lot for all the help.
Ima.

If you intend to send plain text and have the image embedded within the message, this cannot be done – strictly speaking. Email standards do not allow for plain text messages to also include embedded images. If you receive an email that has an image inside the text area, then the message format will be html or possibly rich text.
If you can format the text notification as html, then you will be able to embed the image inside your html using the method already mentioned.
There is a way to have both plain text and html in the same message, and get the embedded image inside your html. How the email is viewed at the client will determine if they see html and image, or they will see plain text with the html and image as attachments. This requires that you format a message as two files, one each for plain text and html. Blat can then use the html file as your main message, and use the plain text file as alternate text with the –alttextf option. For example: blat htmlfile.htm –alttextf plaintextfile.txt –t someone –s “Some subject matter” –embed imageFile.jpg
