Folks,
Microsoft released a Windows 7 update named something like "Monthly Rollup
2019-04 Preview" which proceeded to trash my Windows installation to the
point that Windows Recovery was not possible. I could read the partition
with Linux, and managed to save most stuff I needed. Windows 7 also wiped a
partition on a different drive, meaning I lost a lot of data. In addition,
I recently built a new computer to investigate that hardware for adding
support into another project. As it turned out, trying to boot Windows 7
would not work, nor could I run the Windows 7 SP1 installer because it
lacked support for the chipset. In the end, I am on the new computer
running Windows 10 and getting everything back to working condition. It may
take a few more days before I can get any edits to Blat, but I have not
forgotten.
I ran Blat -profile on Windows 7 like was mentioned, with and without -hkcu,
to see what happens. Yes, I can improve the output to make it a lot less
confusing, which I intend to do in the next few days.
